Mrs. Lauri Achterhof
I have been teaching in Hudsonville for 25 years at both the elementary level and the middle school level. My husband and I live in Zeeland and have twins that are seniors and two children in college. For several years, I was part time while my 4 children were young. Then I taught full time for 6 years. A few years ago, I went back to part time and began a job share with Mrs. D. This year, I will be teaching resource on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. On Thursdays and Fridays I will support 6th grade. I am so excited about teaming up again with Mrs. Dmitruk to provide the care, nurturing, and academic support needed to help our 7th graders have a great school year at Riley!

Hi! Thanks for stopping by our site. I will be the 7th grade resource teacher on Thursdays and Fridays! I live in Holland with my husband, Jon, and our 3 year old son, Matthew and 4 month old son, Joey. Mattman and Joey keep us on our toes, so I love that I get to spend time with them during the week, too!
I’ve been fortunate to have lots of different teaching experiences throughout my career to help me really see the K-12 school system vertically. The last few years, I've been a 7th grade resource room teacher, but before then, I taught 8th grade history and ELA here at RMS, a teacher for 3rd-5th graders with autism, and a 5th grade general education teacher. I've also spent time teaching in South Africa!
